How long does it take to settle a Florida auto accident case?

How long does it take to settle your case? We get that question all the time. There are many, many variables to determine how long it takes. Some cases settle in a matter of a week or two if there's limited insurance coverage. And some cases involving large amount of damages or complex cases could take years. One of the things that we make sure that we do is we never rush a settlement.

It's always important that the injured party reaches what's called MMI or maximum medical improvement before we attempt to settle their case. Once a case is settled, the case is settled forever and we'll be required to sign a release which basically says that you can never ask for money again. It's important to make sure that we know everything that's wrong with you and that the doctors have examined you extensively and they know your entire medical history and have you stabilized before we attempt to settle your case.

“The attorneys at Donaldson & Weston helped me get an amazing result on my case. Obviously I’ve been through a lot physically but I feel better now and the money really helped my family. When I was riding my bicycle I was hit by a truck that wasn't paying attention. I am not the suing type, but I would definitely hire this firm again.”

“After my accident happened I waited to hear back from the insurance company for about 6 months. I just felt like they kept jerking me around. They even told me not to hire an attorney because it would mean less money in my pocket. I couldn't wait any longer because my bills were out of hand. I hired this firm and they were solid. I got a great result without having to go to court.”
