Jack M. Sobel has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1977 and has been trying or otherwise resolving personal injury lawsuits for more than 40 years. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Yale University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami. His early courtroom training came at the Miami-Dade County Attorney's Office where he defended several governmental agencies, employees and officers in negligence claims. He then tried cases for insurance companies and their insureds before electing to dedicate his practice almost exclusively to the pursuit of justice for individuals with serious injury claims.

He has presented more than 100 cases to juries in Florida courts from Jacksonville to Miami and from West Palm Beach, Stuart, Ft. Pierce and Vero Beach to Orlando, Naples, Ft. Myers and Tampa. He has handled dozens of appeals to Florida's Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal and has successfully handled automobile, truck and motorcycle crashes, slips or trips and falls, animal attacks, mishandled firearms, assaults and a variety of other civil cases.

Jack has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in Civil Trial Law for more than twenty years and enjoys the highest rating awarded by the Martindale-Hubbell national law directory - AV Preeminent. In 2016, Jack was honored as one of the Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyers in South Florida by The National Trial Lawyers - an invitation-only professional organization.

Jack has served as President of the Martin County Bar Association, as chairman of a 19th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee and as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Jack and his wife of more than 37 years have two grown daughters and one grandson. He is conversant in Spanish and enjoys hiking, photography, music, sports and writing (including one published novel, The Flower Man's Daughter).

What Our Clients Say
The attorneys at Donaldson & Weston helped me get an amazing result on my case. Obviously I’ve been through a lot physically but I feel better now and the money really helped my family. When I was riding my bicycle I was hit by a truck that wasn't paying attention. I am not the suing type, but I would definitely hire this firm again. - M.P.
After my accident, i felt like I was being pulled in a bunch of different directions. I really didn't know what to do and all I wanted was someone to shoot me straight. The lawyers at the firm were so honest and definitely pointed me in the right direction. The staff was professional. I think it’s great that only attorneys work on my case, it definitely made me feel comfortable - D.L.
After my accident happened I waited to hear back from the insurance company for about 6 months. I just felt like they kept jerking me around. They even told me not to hire an attorney because it would mean less money in my pocket. I couldn't wait any longer because my bills were out of hand. I hired this firm and they were solid. I got a great result without having to go to court. - S.C.
